In March, Accenture made headlines for furloughing 19,000 employees, half of which affected individuals in non-billable functions such as financial, legal, and human resources departments.
The professional services company joins the roster of global tech services and consulting giants propelling towards lofty investments in generative AI. Accenture will double its AI workforce through rigorous hiring, acquisitions, and training.

As part of Accenture’s plan to double its AI workforce, a Center for Advanced AI will be established for assisting its clients to maximize the emerging prospects and advantages of generative AI in creating text and visual delights based on simple prompts.
